furniture design/maker's course 20 weeks International Students

The 20 week course covers all the same elements as the 12 week but allows more time to complete your projects, and will give you much needed practice whilst having support and advice when it is needed. The project will be designed by you, but you will be supported every step of the way, with advice on proportion, aesthetics, ergonomics, material selection and functionality on hand. This course is ideal for international students from non-EU countries. Due to strict immigration controls visitors can now only get a six month visitor's visa. You can apply for an extra six months but this needs to be done in the country of origin. Please contact for more details.

You will also be able to cover some of the more advanced subjects that are taught on our one & two year programs. You can join in with design discussions, start to consider design practices and study past and present designers.

On this course your true creativity will be nurtured and you can start to explore your potential. Whether you want to set up on your own, are looking for a change in career through employment, or just enjoying a hobby, this could be just the course to fulfil your needs. Visiting lecturers attend the studio with discussions on a variety of subjects this is combined with field trips to other workshops and exhibitions.

The studio is open from 7.30 am and closes after 6pm. This gives students the potential of having 1000 hours of bench time. Maybe you would like to come in at the weekends? Well, we welcome that and this could increase your hours up to 1400.
