2022 Course Dates:

Our long courses intakes are January, May & September. Occasionally we can take students outside these intake dates. If you wanted to ‘try before you buy’ we offer a very popular ‘Taster Week’ at £650 which is refunded on booking a long course. The November 2022 Taster Week is booking now.

We have a variety of Weekend Classes running in 2022 and a few dates in place for 2023. More TBC shortly.

Long Courses

  • 12 Week Furniture Makers’ Course

    The 12 week course is intended as an introduction to furniture making and covers all the basics. After the course you only need practice, determination and imagination. Start: 14th March & 5th September 2022 | Cost £7,500.

  • 12 Week Summer School 2023
    12 week courses

    The summer school course, 2023 (dates TBC), is intended as an introduction to furniture making and covers all the basic skills needed to become a successful maker. After the course you will only need practice, determination, and imagination! Cost £7,500.

  • 24 Week Furniture Makers’ Course

    The 24 week course covers all the same elements as the 12 week but allows more time to complete your projects, and will give you much needed practice whilst having support and advice when it is needed. Start: 14th March & 5th September 2022 | Cost £12,500.

Prior to my time at robinson house studio I had worked as a carpenter both on site and in a workshop. I realised I wanted to pursue making bespoke fine furniture and felt that a course with Marc at the studio offered in-depth cabinet making tuition as well as the opportunity to explore design. It certainly proved to be an exciting environment to be a part of, with emphasis on contemporary design and the use of innovative new materials and techniques.

On the outside is rippled sycamore and figured eucalyptus veneers with aluminium inlay. Then a high gloss lacquer finish. The base is a spray on aluminium finish then polished. This beautiful bespoke tea box is made from the mo This beautiful bespoke tea box is made from the most amazing black bog oak with its distinctive dark colour which comes from the wood having been preserved and subfossilised in the bog for many years in Norfolk. The box has a hand carved spoon that slots into the inside of the top. The emerald green in the inside of the box really does look beautiful against the dark black wood. This beautiful chair made here @robinsonhousestudi This beautiful chair made here @robinsonhousestudio furniture school by our 50 week student Ian Burnell @ianburnelldesigns The Spitfire Mk. Vb lounge chair. Made from fumed English oak and a hand woven paper cord seat. This particular chair is a carbon negative version in the chair series. The chair features hand carved arm rests and a steam bent back rest which is unique to the carbon negative, VOC free version shown here. Phil trained with us at 'robinson house studio' and graduated after finishing a 24 week course design and makers course with us earlier this year. Phil before joining us worked in Propmaking and modelmaking before taking the leap into furniture making and designing. Phil is at the moment establishing his own furniture, sculpture and homeware company. Phil will be exhibiting at Handmade Oxford 23rd- 26th June Waterperry Gardens.
