Spend a hands-on week at ‘robinson house studio’ Furniture School on the beautiful South coast of England — one of the most scenic parts of the UK — designing and making your own handcrafted wooden box while developing essential woodworking skills in a friendly, professional workshop environment.
Suitable for beginners and those looking to improve their skills, this practical course is taught by Master Craftsman Theo Cook and guides you through the complete process – from initial design ideas to a beautifully finished piece to take home.
Working in a small group, you’ll benefit from plenty of one-to-one tuition and guidance throughout the week, allowing you to build confidence and develop your skills at your own pace.
Throughout the week, you will learn:
- Box design and proportions
- Material selection and timber preparation
- Box construction techniques
- Accurate cutting and assembly
- Hinge fitting and installation
- The gluing and clamping process
- Surface preparation and finishing techniques
- Costing and pricing your work
